You’ll engineer and administer large-scale Cisco Collaboration environments, including CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressway, and Jabber, across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and VoSIP networks. Your work keeps voice and video services secure, reliable, and mission-ready across geographically dispersed sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize UC system availability and performance with Cisco Real-Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) and Solar Winds.
  • Perform CUCM upgrades, migrations, and patching, including Cisco UCS servers, VG450 voice gateways, and VMware ESXi virtual environments.
  • Apply DISA STIGs, remediate ACAS/Nessus scan findings, and maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) controls.
  • Provision and configure IP phones and telephony devices using the Bulk Administration Tool (BAT), custom templates, and automated workflows.
  • Configure and troubleshoot SIP trunks, dial plans, call routing, and Quality of Service (QoS) for voice and video.
  • Write and maintain system design guides, installation manuals, as-built documentation, service policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Work with network, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex VoIP and UC issues.
  • Conduct site surveys and recommend design changes that improve performance, scalability, and security.
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support, end-user training, and user documentation.
  • Help plan and deploy new UC services and shape the collaboration technology roadmap.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience engineering and administering Cisco Unified Communications/VoIP platforms in enterprise or DoD environments.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Hands-on experience with CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressway, SIP, QoS, and Cisco VG series voice gateways.
  • Experience upgrading and migrating Cisco UC systems, including Cisco UCS servers and VMware ESXi.
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIG compliance, IA controls, and security practices on DoD networks.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex UC, VoIP, and collaboration issues across geographically distributed networks.
  • Experience with RTMT, Solar Winds, or similar network monitoring tools.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Clearance
  • Active DoD Security Clearance required upon start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CCNP Collaboration preferred.
