Role OverviewTÜV SÜD is looking for a Shift Technician to join our team following continued business growth. The Shift Technician will perform RF (Radio Frequency) testing in our brand-new, state‑of‑the‑art test facility. The position requires a rotating shift pattern to cover 24/7 testing operations, alternating between two shifts (10 am‑10 pm or 10 pm‑10 am) on a 4‑on/4‑off schedule. Initial training will be delivered during the day (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑5:00 pm) before transferring to the shift rotation.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Deliver test services as part of a 24/7 shift pattern, executing RF tests in accordance with harmonised test standards (ETSI, FCC) and customer‑specific test plans.
- Control and monitor test equipment calibration status during testing.
- Work with customers during attended testing sessions.
- Maintain close liaison with the Project Manager to ensure work is carried out accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Record results accurately following company quality procedures and provide clear, concise communication at the end of shifts.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent hands‑on practical experience in an engineering environment.
- Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers or oscilloscopes.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work as part of a team on 24/7 shifts performing radiated RF testing using automated test scripts.
- Good understanding of IT systems (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal and customer skills with commercial awareness.
- Proven ability to document results accurately.
- Ability to access the site independently; public transport may not always be available due to shift patterns.
