About the Role of Cable Assembler

We are seeking a skilled Cable Assembler to join a fast paced production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and preparing cables to a high standard using a variety of tools and equipment. Tasks will include cable cutting, stripping, crimping, looming, and soldering, following detailed work instructions and maintaining strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Cut, strip, and prepare cables according to specifications.
Perform crimping and tinning of wires and connectors.
Assemble cable looms using basic loom boards.
Operate cut-and-strip machines and other relevant equipment.
Solder cables and ensure high-quality terminations.
Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC-A-620 standards where applicable.
Accurately maintain and update job history on all route cards for tasks completed.
Report any issues that could impact delivery schedules or product quality.
Comply with all Health & Safety, housekeeping, quality, and environmental policies.

Skills and Requirements

Previous cable assembly experience is desirable; training can be provided.
Ability to solder to a high standard (required for £13 per hour rate).
Familiarity with IPC-A-620 standards is advantageous.
Experience using cut-and-strip machines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
IT/Computer literate.
