Senior Android Developer

A global technology innovator developing advanced, high-reliability products is looking for a Senior Android Developer for their site in Fareham.

The focus of the role will be to help drive the development of brand-new mobile applications that work with a range of high value consumer electronics. You’ll be working closely with cross‑functional engineers to create and maintain a high‑quality cross‑platform app and contribute to shared codebases for future development.

• Building new and enhancing existing mobile applications using modern cross‑platform tools.
• Writing native Android code when required, especially for performance‑critical or platform–specific features.
• Translating requirements into clear, estimated technical tasks and planning work with risks, dependencies and delivery timelines in mind.
• Developing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code that adheres to internal coding standards.
• Debugging, diagnosing, and resolving issues efficiently.
• Collaborating with software architects, UI/UX teams, QA, product owners, and mobile technical leads.
• Participating in code reviews and providing support/mentorship to peers and junior engineers.

A senior developer with significant experience of native Android development in Kotlin who has a track record in developing complex apps. Some practical experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or Compose Multiplatform is highly desirable.

A degree level qualification is preferred, any exposure to iOS/Swift would be an advantage.

The position is site based, in Fareham 4 days a week on site with 1 day remote on a 37.5 hour week (flexi start and finish times).
