As a Financial Planning Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality, life‑centred financial planning advice to our clients. This role is ideal for a Diploma‑qualified adviser who thrives on building strong client relationships and developing mid to high net worth clients through comprehensive financial planning rather than transactional advice. Working closely with the Managing Director, parlaplanners, and administrators, you will help construct and manage financial plans using lifetime cashflow modelling software, ensuring clients achieve clarity and confidence in their financial future.
Key Responsibilities- Client Development – Build and nurture relationships with mid to high net worth clients, understanding their goals and aspirations to create tailored financial plans.
- Collaborative Planning – Work alongside the Managing Director on joint client meetings, operating Voyant software during discussions to ensure full understanding of agreed strategies.
- Financial Advice – Provide advice on investment, retirement, tax, and estate planning within the context of a client’s financial plan (no transactional business).
- Cashflow Modelling – Use lifetime cashflow planning tools to illustrate scenarios and support decision‑making.
- Team Coordination – Collaborate with administrators to gather and collate data on existing policies and with parlaplanners for initial fund/product analysis and report preparation.
- Meeting Participation – Attend planning meetings independently or jointly with the Managing Director, ensuring accurate data input and interpretation of cashflow models.
- Compliance & Standards – Ensure all advice and activities comply with FCA regulations and internal procedures.
- Continuous Development – Keep up to date with regulatory, legislative, and technical changes, maintaining required CPD.
- Contribution to Growth – Identify opportunities to enhance client relationships and support business development initiatives.
- Diploma in Financial Planning (minimum Level 4 qualification).
- Ideally 2–3 years’ experience in financial advice or planning.
- Strong understanding of financial planning principles and lifetime cashflow modelling.
- Competent user of Voyant software (or willingness to learn).
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
- Competent in MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Commitment to our client’s ethos of integrity and client‑first service.
- Starting salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum.
- Performance‑related pay reviews.
- Annual Christmas bonus based on team performance.
- Support for ongoing professional development and qualifications.
- Additional leave, company events, pension, financial planning services, sick pay.
