We are recruiting for a Electrical Engineer to join our team at IPS Featherstone on a full‑time and permanent basis.
Job DetailsShift: Monday–Friday, 08:00 am–04:00 pm.
Salary: £45,000 per annum.
Responsibilities- May from time to get involved with project work to get equipment back up to standard which would assist in helping production performance figures.
- Electrical fault‑finding skills on Baggers, Multi‑Head Weighers, and general packaging machinery would be an advantage.
- PLC fault finding and programming issues.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Pat testing.
- Respond rapidly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose the problems and perform repairs or report back to engineering team leader if external specialists are required.
- Adhere to health & safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Cable management, new installations when required, services.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
The ideal candidate will come from an electrical engineering background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time‑served engineer with electrical bias including 17th/18th edition and have packaging machinery experience, within a production environment. If you have worked on PLC systems it would be advantageous. Also, able, and willing to work on AC‑DC drives and inverters, process machinery, gearboxes, pumps, and other manufacturing processes.

- Site services experience, 240 V/415 V.
- Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent ONC) Electrical, BTEC Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic engineering.
- PLC knowledge – desirable but not essential.
- 17th/18th Edition.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems used in FMCG industry.
- Mechanical knowledge – desirable but not essential.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery including Baggers, Multi‑heads, conveyors, packaging equipment.
- Good communication skills, and the ability to make decisions on the spot.
