Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner – Felixstowe GP Practice
My Client is a progressive, patient-focused training GP practice based in the beautiful coastal town of Felixstowe
, and is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner to join its expanding multidisciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking practice that embraces innovation, education, and teamwork. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic group of healthcare professionals including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, and mental health practitioners — all working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, holistic care to the local community.
As a Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner
, the post holder will use advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a variety of acute, minor illness, and long-term conditions. Working both independently and as part of the wider team, they will deliver safe, evidence-based care while supporting the practice’s ethos of continuous learning and development.

There are regular clinical meetings, opportunities for peer review, and support for ongoing professional development, including leadership and advanced practice training.
- Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments of patients presenting with a wide range of health needs
- Formulate working diagnoses and management plans using clinical reasoning and best practice guidance
- Prescribe safely and appropriately as an independent prescriber (V300), or work towards this qualification if not yet held
- Provide follow-up care, review treatment effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments
- Support chronic disease management, health promotion, and preventative medicine initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and high-quality patient care
- Contribute to service development, clinical audits, and practice quality improvement projects
- Participate in teaching, mentoring, and training activities within the practice where appropriate
- HCPC-registered Paramedic with experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency settings
- Qualified Independent Prescriber (V300) or willing to work towards this qualification
- Confident in autonomous clinical decision-making with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care
