About the RoleWithin the Standardisation team, you will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy of technical documentation supporting NOV Rig Technologies Aftermarket Division. Your work involves verifying that quality plans are properly populated, and all referenced documents such as inspection procedures and parts lists are complete, correctly filed, and compliant with standards.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills in English are critical.
- Review and validate quality plans completed by service engineers to ensure all required fields are accurately populated.
- Verify completeness of referenced documentation (e.g., inspection procedures, parts lists, reports) in accordance with quality plans.
- Ensure consistency with company standards and global procedures, maintaining accuracy and proper file naming conventions in the Document Management System (DMS).
- Liaise with service and engineering teams to identify missing or incomplete information, requesting corrections or additional documentation as needed.
- Prepare and finalize documentation for certification, ensuring it is ready for final approval and countersignature by relevant stakeholders.
- Support the standardization of documentation processes across global operations to ensure a uniform approach.
- Identify and propose improvements in the documentation review process to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to your supervisor on the status of document verification tasks, highlighting any risks, delays, or opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external policies, including legislative, industry, and company standards, particularly with respect to documentation and certification procedures.
- Perform other tasks reasonably required by the department to support standardization initiatives and document management operations.
- Proficiency in managing documents and validations using document management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure document accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with cross‑functional global teams.
- Team player supportive of standardising processes in multinational operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and managing technical documentation.
- HNC or HND in a relevant technical field (Engineering, Quality Assurance/Control, Auditing, English, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a technical or engineering environment, ideally with exposure to document control.
- Experience working with authoring or checking written English.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas or heavy industry sectors where technical documentation is.
- Familiarity with technical documentation such as equipment inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., API Q1 and/or ISO 9001) and auditing practices.
- Experience working on projects and within collaborative teams.
- Collaborative team player with a process‑oriented mindset.
- Proactive communicator willing to engage with global colleagues to ensure quality and consistency.
