About Pixels On Target
Pixels On Target is a non-traditional defense contractor building technology for customers in MIL/GOV/LE. We move fast like a commercial team, while meeting the security and compliance expectations that come with supporting our customers.
We're hiring a hands-on IT Systems & Security Specialist to design, secure, and continuously improve our internal IT environment: endpoints, identity, networking, collaboration platforms, and compliance evidence.
What You'll Do
- IT security and compliance execution: Implement controls, policies, and evidence collection aligned to CMMC readiness (e.g., practices associated with NIST SP 800-171), and keep the program operational.
- Secure identity and access
across Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365/SharePoint:- MFA, SSO, conditional access, least privilege, and privileged access workflows
- Joiner/mover/leaver automation and access reviews
- Harden and manage endpoints
(Windows/macOS/Linux as applicable):- MDM (Intune/Jamf/other), patching, and configuration baselines
- EDR/AV, disk encryption, device compliance, and secure remote access
- Design and secure networking
for an SME environment:- Firewalls, VLANs, VPN/zero-trust access, Wi-Fi security, and DNS/email security
- Vendor/ISP coordination and reliable site operations
- Build strong operational hygiene:
- Asset inventory, vulnerability management, logging/monitoring, and incident response
- Backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity testing
- Create audit-ready documentation:
- Security policies/procedures, diagrams, system inventories, and evidence binders
- Manage POA&Ms and track remediation to closure
- Be the go-to security partner for the business:
- Risk assessments for new tools and vendors
- Security awareness and "secure-by-default" enablement
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in hands-on IT infrastructure and security roles (SME environment strongly preferred)
- Proven admin-level experience securing Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365/Share Point
- Strong fundamentals in IAM (MFA, RBAC, least privilege), endpoint management, networking, and logging/monitoring
- Experience building security documentation and operating a compliance program (CMMC/NIST-style controls, SSP/POA&M concepts, audit prep)
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and drive work to closure
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with CMMC assessments and coordinating third-party audits
- Familiarity with defense-adjacent requirements (e.g., handling CUI, DFARS-adjacent workflows)
- SIEM, email security, DLP, CASB, and scripting/automation (Power Shell/Python)
- Security certifications (Security+, SSCP, CISSP, CISM, CCSP) or equivalent experience
