Thompson Construction Group has a current opening for a Project Manager in our Fort McMurray area of operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project timeline and budget, to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner while meeting project requirements.
  • Provide scheduling for estimates and projects.
  • Organize daily operations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers.
  • Manage change orders including quoting and cost analysis pertaining to the changes in the project scope.
  • Responsible for project reporting such as cost summaries, load count reports, daily LEM reporting, volume tracking and invoicing.
  • Participation in weekly progress meetings.
  • Participation in weekly supervisor and management meetings.
  • Review daily foreman reports for coding.
  • Job site visits with management and supervision.
  • Assisting with budget estimates and quotes.
  • Month end accrual reporting.
  • Attend client meetings associated with pre-tender, post tender and project start-ups.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in earthworks construction and/or oil & gas projects.
  • Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Superior computer skills and technical writing.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Primavera Software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule.
  • CSTS/OSSA or CSO/BSO Certification.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
