SummaryFull‑time, fixed‑term post for 12 months. The role is based at the Belford Hospital in Fort William, part of the NHS Highland laboratory network – providing Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion and Microbiology services. The position will support the new state‑of‑the‑art laboratory being established as part of the Lochaber redesign project.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and complex laboratory testing in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Follow written protocols and procedures and ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality service.
- Participate in an on‑call 24/7/365 rota when required.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory processes and standards.
- HCPC registered.
- Experience working within an acute NHS laboratory.
- Experience with written protocols and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Desirable: experience in a multidisciplinary environment and an enthusiastic innovative approach to teamwork.
