An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to work within the developing Drug & Alcohol Service in the rural location of Lochaber.
You should be able to work in a creative and compassionate way, under guidance from the wider DARS team and CMHT Lead, to provide high quality support to people presenting with drug and alcohol issues. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in assessment and facilitation of treatment of drug and alcohol related difficulties. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time‑management skills are essential.
A good understanding and experience of assessing risk will be required. Ability to formulate and deliver plans of care is essential. Knowledge of current MAT standards and treatment options, alongside psychological interventions, is essential.
- Provide high quality support to patients with drug and alcohol issues.
- Assess risk, formulate and deliver care plans.
- Work collaboratively within the DARS team and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Build excellent working relationships with police, A&E, GPs, and partner agencies to facilitate safe discharge plans.
- Support the delivery of training to partner agencies as indicated.
- Provide a vital supporting role to other DARS practitioners and the wider MDT.
- Experienced registered nurse with competency in drug and alcohol services.
- Demonstrated ability in multi‑disciplinary working and communication.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of MAT standards and psychological interventions.
- Experience in risk assessment and care plan development.
