Accounts Receivable Specialist

Position Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer payment processing, collections activities and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records and timely cash flow. This role requires strong attention to detail, customer service skills and the ability to effectively resolve billing discrepancies while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities Process and apply customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.

Reconcile customer accounts and research/reslove billing discrepancies or payment issues.

Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past-due balances.

Communicate professionally with customers regarding invoices, payment status, and outstanding balances.

Support collection activities while maintaining positive and professional customer relationships.

Maintain accurate, organized financial records and supporting documentation.

Collaborate with accounting, sales, and customer service teams to resolve account-related issues.

Assist with month-end close activities and accounts receivable reporting.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards.

Identify and recommend opportunities to improve billing and collection processes.

Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications High school diploma or High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing or related accounting functions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting or financial systems.

Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Experience using ERP or accounting systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).Prior experience in collections and customer account management.
