Position Summary

Are you a registered Clinician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Specialized Services department. Under the administrative direction of the Team Lead/designate, the Clinician is responsible for providing primary therapeutic, case management and mental health and substance use support services for assigned clients, whether they are in hospital, residential or other community settings.

Such services are provided where and as required, in accordance with care plans agreed to by the inter‑professional clinical team, the individual and family.
This is the Addiction Specialist role.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work

Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

Dawson Creek & District Hospital

Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include:

Dawson Creek

Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000.

Qualfications

Baccalaureate degree in a mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
