REGISTERED NURSE, ONCOLOGY SPECIALTY CLINIC

Join us at Northern Health BC as a Registered Nurse in our oncology specialty clinic at Fort St. John Hospital.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager or designated Community Cancer Services Nurse, you will provide, coordinate, and implement nursing care for ambulatory care clinic patients. Responsibilities include patient assessment, patient/family teaching, chemotherapy administration, provision of health promotion information, and navigation support. You will work closely with hospital, community, regional and provincial team members (physicians, pharmacists) to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate systemic therapy and ambulatory care services.

You will also support initiatives that develop clinical skills for hospital and community care providers.

About Fort St. John Hospital

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds. It is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Highlights:

  • Endoscopy suite, 2 state‑of‑the‑art operating rooms, plus a procedure room
  • Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
  • Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
  • 3 Intensive care units
  • Minor surgeries
  • 7 single maternity rooms for labour, delivery, and post‑partum
