Job overview

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an outstanding individual to join our Board as a Non-Executive Director
, with a focus on digital transformation, data and emerging technologies, including AI.

This is a pivotal time for the Trust. Alongside rising demand, financial pressures and system-wide change, we have a significant opportunity to harness digital innovation to improve patient outcomes, staff experience and how we work across our health system. We are looking for someone who brings strategic insight, strong values and inclusive leadership, and who is motivated by making a difference for patients, staff and communities.

A comprehensive induction, mentoring and ongoing development will be provided to support you in the role.

Main duties of the job

As a Non-Executive Director, you will work collaboratively with Board colleagues to provide independent oversight, constructive challenge and strategic leadership.

Key aspects of the role include:

Contributing to the development and delivery of the Trust’s strategy, business plan and corporate objectives.

Supporting effective decision-making and high-quality debate at Board level.

Providing assurance on quality, governance, risk management and financial sustainability.

Supporting oversight of digital transformation, data and technology-enabled change, including the responsible use of Ai.

Championing the Trust’s values, inclusive behaviours and commitment to staff wellbeing

Acting as an ambassador for the Trust and supporting relationships with Governors and system partners.

We are particularly interested in individuals who bring:
  • Strategic or senior-level experience in a complex environment
  • Insight into digital transformation or technology-enabled change
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to challenge positively
  • A commitment to equality, inclusion and values-led leadership
  • An interest in healthcare and public service
