Job Overview

Join Our Outstanding Outpatient Leadership Team!

Are you an energetic, forward-thinking Registered Nurse looking to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse with broad clinical experience to join our senior Outpatient team at Frimley South.

Our Outpatient service is dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care — and we’re passionate about continually evolving to meet the needs of our community. As part of our leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our service, supporting colleagues, and ensuring an excellent experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

We’re looking for someone who brings strong organisational and leadership skills, along with a warm, collaborative approach. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be supporting staff, coordinating activity across multiple sites, and combining hands‑on clinical work with a variety of administrative and supervisory responsibilities.

You will be primarily based either with the Frimley South onsite team or our off‑site team — but we operate as one cohesive, supportive unit. The role spans all Frimley South Outpatient locations, including Aldershot Centre for Health, Fleet Community Hospital, and Frimley Park Hospital. Our sites operate between 08:00 and 18:30, Monday to Saturday, giving you a varied and engaging working week.

If you’re ready to contribute to a high‑performing service, lead by example, and make a real difference to patient care, we’d love to welcome you to our team.

Main duties of the job
  • To work clinically providing visible leadership, direction, co‑ordination, and forward planning of Outpatient Department (OPD) services within the Frimley Health Outpatient nursing team.
  • You will serve as a prominent role model, leading by example, fostering a culture of respect, belonging, and psychological safety within the team, where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute.
  • Demonstrate diverse expert clinical skills, clear professional and organisational values while overseeing the OPD areas.
  • Manage service needs and provide support to the Senior OPD team.
  • In conjunction with Practice Development (PD), you will assess and actively support the Registered Nurses (RN) and Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) to practice competently and develop within their roles to ensure a high standard of care and patient experience are maintained in line with the Frimley Health Strategy, Vision, and Values.
  • To provide Band 6 cover for a 6‑day service at designated Frimley Health Outpatient locations as required, co‑ordinating capacity and flow within the departments.
  • To deputise and take on the role of Bronze Command for Senior Sister and Matron in their absence, maintaining an organised and structured workforce.
  • To adhere to the standards outlined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and RN competencies.
  • To be a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly motivated, visible, professional, and clinical role model for others.
  • To lead the nursing team, displaying exceptional leadership and the highest standards of clinical competence.
  • Inspiring others, facilitating change using a range of strategies that demonstrate excellence in nursing practice, empathy, and professionalism.
  • To support, supervise and assess all learners, students, temporary, new, and junior staff within the departments.
  • Collaborate with Practice Development to assess, actively support, and facilitate registered nurses and health care support workers in practicing competently and advancing in their roles.
  • Consolidate, enhance, and broaden own knowledge and clinical skills proficiency, furthering own professional development.
