We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Travel Newborn Nursery RN for an immediate opening in Gadsden Click to open side panel for more information , AL. In this role, you will provide critical early care for newborns,support mothers and families post-delivery, and manage immediate clinical interventions for infants requiring specialized medical attention.
Key ResponsibilitiesL&D Delivery Support & Admission: Accept infants directly from Labor & Delivery at time of delivery and handle initial admission into the Newborn Nursery.
Clinical Assessment & Workup: Perform comprehensive physical assessments, monitor vital signs, and initiate workups for sick or unstable infants.
Patient Transfers: Stabilization, preparation, and initiation of transfer procedures for neonates requiring higher-level care (NICU/specialized pediatric facilities).
Family-Centered Care: Provide education and support to parents regarding newborn care, feeding, and safety prior to discharge.
Qualifications & RequirementsLicensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama (or active Compact/MSL license).
Certifications
Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of recent experience as a Newborn Nursery RN.
Skills: Strong clinical judgment, immediate newborn resuscitation capabilities, and experience handling neonatal stabilization and transfers.
