Location:

Kippax, Leeds (LS25). Starting date: ASAP. Pay: £15 per hour.

We are recruiting a Personal Assistant to support a university graduate with Muscular Dystrophy, enabling him to live as independently as possible. The role includes assisting with personal care, transport, household duties, and accompanying on residential university trips.

• Provide personal care and day-to-day support at the client’s home and university.
• Assist with transfer to/from daily activities, including chair, bed, and power wheelchair.
• Support transport arrangements, help with train boarding and alighting, and provide accompaniment during weekend or overnight trips.
• Assist with basic household tasks and maintain the environment tidy.
• Attend to the client’s domestic pets, caring for dogs and cats.
• Remain flexible for occasional on‑call duties.

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Good sense of humour.
• Animal lover.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Open‑minded and organized with the ability to work independently.
• Clean and tidy appearance and habits.
• Independence, reliability and trustworthiness.
• Vaccinated against Covid‑19 and flu.
• Non‑smoker.

• Rota: 7 days on / 7 days off.
• Shift times:
  Monday‑Friday 7 am‑7 pm, Saturday‑Sunday 9 am‑5 pm.
• Annual leave: 5.6 weeks pro‑rata.
• Opportunity to join residential university trips.
