Responsibilities
- Directly support the Community Mental Health Team to ensure day‑to‑day coordination and administrative support is delivered in a timely and professional manner.
- Support and assist the team manager in delivering all activities relating to the day‑to‑day business of the team including coordination of referrals, triage, duty, general administration and data entry.
- Develop and deliver high quality administration processes to aid the delivery of safe and effective clinical services in a community setting.
- Respond to external and internal telephone enquiries and take appropriate action.
- Exercise excellent communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Respond and manage any e‑mail queries and requests for meetings on behalf of the team.
- Schedule appointments and resolve conflicting diary appointments.
- Use EMIS Community module on a daily basis.
- Deal with and collate data.
- Work with limited supervision using own initiative.
- Be aware of the priorities and needs of the team and assist in achieving all deadlines.
- Maintain a courteous helpful attitude and respect confidentiality.
- Play a key role in coordination and planning, providing comprehensive administrative service across a range of activities focusing on dealing with patients and their families, telephone calls, typing and data entry.
- Be confident and able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating the use of initiative.
- Have an eye for detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Prioritise workload and communicate clearly and effectively with service users, families and colleagues internally and externally.
- Previous experience of working within the NHS is desirable but not essential.
- Awareness of mental health issues and ability to demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach.
