Management Accountant

Jackson Hogg is supporting a fantastic client in Gateshead on the appointment of a Management Accountant. This role will suit candidates at the start of their chartered studies, looking to learn and develop as a Management Accountant.

* Salary: £35k per annum

* Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays + birthday

Key Responsibilities

* Review and finalise monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and clear analysis

* Prepare monthly income, expenditure and profitability analysis

* Manage month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments and overhead analysis

* Lead the production of the monthly MI pack

* Work with finance and non-finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition for new and existing projects

* Oversee all balance sheet reconciliations

* Oversee posting of transactions in erp system (creditors, debtors, bank, general ledger) to ensure timely and accurate processing

* Lead quarterly VAT returns

* Support year-end accounting, including liaison with auditors

* Continually seek to improve processes

* Assist with financial analysis and wider finance projects

Person Specification

* Experience preparing management accounts and performing balance sheet reconciliations

* Ambitious and driven to succeed

* Strong communication skills

* Comfortable working with both finance and non-finance colleagues

* Commercial awareness
