Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Gateshead (Hybrid – 1 day remote)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Reporting to: Financial Controller

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a motivated Part‑Qualified Accountant to join the finance team.

This is a hands‑on role where you will play a key part in supporting the Financial Controller with day‑to‑day finance operations. You will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career while actively working towards a professional qualification.

• Processing accruals, prepayments, and journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations (including bank, debtors, creditors, and intercompany accounts)
• General ledger maintenance and reconciliations
• Contributing to budgeting, forecasting
• Variance and margin analysis
• Ensuring accuracy of financial data feeding into month‑end close
• Production of monthly management accounts
• Work closely with operational teams to understand and improve financial performance

We are looking for someone who is actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA (part‑qualified). You will ideally have experienced in finance within a manufacturing or similar environment. It is also important that you are highly proficient in IT systems, with advanced Excel skills. A detail‑oriented, analytical individual who is proactive in problem‑solving. You will also be a strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
