As a core member of the People Advisory team they will work under the leadership of the People & OD (POD) Lead in partnership with the operational management teams and leaders, providing operational advice and specialist knowledge on all HR related matters in line with the needs and priorities of the Business Units and Corporate Directorates to which they are partnering.
Mainduties of the job
Deliver a person-centred, evidence-based and values-led People & OD Advisory service.
Support the POD Lead to work in partnership with operational management teams within their designated Business Units and Corporate Directorates to deliver the People and OD agenda.
Act as an internal HR consultant for the Business Units and/or Corporate Directorates as well as a critical friend, working collaboratively with the wider People and OD Directorate to ensure operational issues are addressed positively and proactively, ensuring an effective two way flow of information in order to build intelligence.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the People and OD team and embrace a one team ethos, continually supporting team development and challenging the status quo to ensure a consistent, value adding People and OD provision to leaders and colleagues to support and enable Business Units and Corporate Directorates as key customers.
Be informed by data to enable them to pro-actively partner operational colleague in their business area in providing effective operational people support.
Manage Advisors to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of employee relations advice to managers across a broad range of people practices.

Job responsibilitiesPartnering operational management colleagues in designated Business Units and Corporate Directorates to fully understanding their business area day to day people demands to support them to manage well king alongside the POD Lead to ensure you are fully cited on appropriate elements of the People Strategy, NHS People Plan and CQC requirements to inform this approach and ensure consistent application across the Trust.
Interpret regulations, standards, employment legislation and case law, providing effective, timely and authoritative advice and guidance to senior teams on specialist people and OD issues including (but not limited to) redeployment, discipline, performance management, harassment, recruitment, sickness, terms and conditions,organisational change and other aspects of employee relations.
Providing operational support and guidance to the POD Advisors on all aspects of employee relations including the provision of casework overseeing/supervising and managing end to end case management attending stages of ER processes where appropriate, providing practical advice and guidance and encouraging reflective practice and develop confidence in decision-making.
Expert panel member for medical and non-medical disciplinary/grievance/other associated panels, providing guidance, support and judgements to analyse, interpret and resolve complex and multi-factoral cases where there is no precedent set.
Ensure high-quality input to service business cases, ensuring that workforce plans support strategic objectives and resource plans.
Provide data and intelligence driven and advice and guidance to Business Units and Corporate Directorates.
As part of quality and performance reviews confidently provide analysis, conclusions and recommendations on workforce matters.
Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a HR related subject or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of recent and on-going continuous professional and personal development.
