Import Clerk

A unique opportunity has opened up at our clients located near to Gatwick, they are looking for an enthusiastic Import Operations Consultant. the role is ideal for someone looking to extend knowledge in an ever growing field—starting with live animal imports via road, with progression into general freight handling.

Our client would look at experienced staff £30-34

Also more Junior - £25.5-27

This is a office based role, no remote and ideally experience in Air, Sea and Road some Exports but mainly imports

Hours Mon - Fri 9-6pm ( after probation hours can be 8-5pm)

Weekends 1in 3 ( post probation, working remotely and with additional pay)

Must pass a DBS check

Duties Include:

Managing import jobs from start to finish
Advising clients on required documentation and procedures
Coordinating with local authorities and regulatory bodies
Handling customs clearance and costings
Taking calls and preparing job quotations

Key

Skills:

Strong communication and client liaison skills
Organised and detail-oriented
Full, clean UK driving licence
Quick to adapt and problem-solve
Positive team player with a willingness to learn
Calmness in pressurising situations

Experience

Air, Road and sea experience, exports an advantage
General import and customs requirements knowledge essential
Sequoia software for customs processing
CDS import linked and unlinked declaration experience
T1 discharging
IPAFFS knowledge
