Job Description
In this role, you will contribute to the development and evolution of advanced physics analysis tools for the Future Circular Collider (FCC) project. You will join the EP-FCC physics software team and take responsibility for key software components enabling large-scale, distributed detector performance and physics analysis studies. Your work will support the evaluation of the FCC physics potential and the optimisation of detector designs in close collaboration with the international FCC community.
Yourresponsibilities
- Extend the capabilities of the FCCAnalyses framework, based on ROOT RDataFrame, to support multiple distributed computing solutions.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of core FCCAnalyses components and its integration into iLCDirac.
- Support large-scale detector performance and physics analysis studies in a distributed computing environment.
- Enhance, maintain, and support the integration of FCCAnalyses with web-based analysis platforms.
- Collaborate closely with the Key4hep and ROOT development teams to ensure software coherence and sustainability.
- Produce clear and detailed technical documentation to enable efficient adoption of the analysis tools by the wider FCC community.
Experience:
- Experience with HEP data analysis in C++ or Python;
- Knowledge of Linux systems administration;
- Regular usage of distributed computing resources;
- Familiarity with current web technologies.

- Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Experimental Particle Physics (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Job closing date: 30.01.2026 at 23:59 CET.
- Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
- Working hours:
40 hours per week. - Job flexibility:
Fully Onsite. - Target start date: 01-March-2026.
- Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organisation.
- A monthly stipend between Swiss Francs per month (tax free) depending on your degree.
- 30 days of paid leave per year plus 2 weeks annual closure.
- Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive health insurance scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
- Family, child and infant monthly allowances depending on your individual circumstances.
