Purpose:

Are you passionate about creating world‑class entertainment spaces where technology, architecture, and imagination come together to deliver unforgettable experiences? Do you have hands‑on expertise in live entertainment, events, or immersive design—ideally from an agency, theme park, or cruise background—and the ability to turn global trends into innovative, guest‑delighting moments?

Your Impact: MSC Cruises is seeking a Director of Product Innovation, Entertainment & Experiences with a deep background in venue and attraction design—a person who understands how to transform creative visions into operationally sound, buildable realities. This role focuses on entertainment innovation, leading the process from visionary, future‑focused concept design to guiding technical delivery, encompassing next‑generation theatres, immersive spaces, and the integration of lighting, sound, staging, and show control systems that redefine live experiences at sea.

You’ll collaborate closely with creative, technical, operations and shipbuilding teams to design venues that push the boundaries of what’s possible—drawing inspiration from theme parks, destination attractions, and cutting‑edge entertainment environments. This position calls for a visionary who balances artistic ambition with operable realities, ensuring that every space is as functional as it is awe‑inspiring.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Newbuild, Hotel Operations, Entertainment, Safety, architects, engineers, and external partners to deliver unified, innovative, and operationally sound solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility, cost, and risk analyses while defining technical specifications for lighting, staging, rigging, projection, automation, and show control systems to ensure designs are scalable, reliable, and future‑ready.
  • Review and validate design documentation, drawings, and infrastructure plans to align creative vision with operational, safety and maintenance requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and business cases, ensuring approvals, resources and deliverables stay on track through concept and design phases.
  • Develop and present compelling pitch materials, visualisations, and storytelling assets to communicate intent, design impact and guest experience value.
  • Benchmark against global theme parks, arenas and attractions, maintaining best‑in‑class standards in both creative and technical execution.
  • Oversee vendor selection, procurement and contract management, cultivating partnerships that drive innovation and quality.
  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap for entertainment innovation across the fleet and nurture industry connections to inspire continual growth and forward‑thinking design.
Requirements
  • 10‑15 years of experience in venue and attraction design, entertainment strategy, creative direction or experiential design.
