Duties and responsibilities
  • Climate Services Readiness Tool Redesign
    • Support the revision of the Climate Services for Health Readiness assessment tool redesign process, including:
    • Current State:
      An analysis of the current state of the content and tool interface, including identification of gaps based on evolving services and feedback from active or relevant users. Feedback gathered through in-person engagement with NMHS Climate Service for Health projects and informational interviews with key actors.
    • Recommended Changes:
      Draft a plan for tool re-design based on content feedback and research of successful similar interfaces.
  • Coordinate collaboration with partnering NMHS and RCCs for feedback and testing.
  • Develop a foundational model that consists of a representative sample dataset of entities in the climate and health information system domains.
  • Draft and finalize a market-shaping report and accompanying manuscript which identify existing key players in each domain of climate information systems, digital health, and C&H applications of artificial intelligence, and articulate drivers of demand, value creators, use cases, market sizing, risks and untapped opportunities moving forward. Incorporate insights on emerging markets for climate and health digital products, including challenges and opportunities at the implementation level, vis-à-vis engagement with climate intelligence, digital health, climate information systems, and artificial intelligence communities.
  • Propose and develop mock-ups for new digital health section of Clima-Health Portal.
  • Support planning for Hackathon on Climate and Health information Services with cooperating partners.
  • Digital Health and Climate use-case development
  • Assess and propose project plan for pilot opportunities that test the Digital Adaptation Kit for two use-cases (Heat-Alert Warning System (HHAS) and Climate-Health Data Unification for Dengue (CHUD)), in coordination with WHO Digital Health Team.
  • Assist with publication of Digital Adaptation Kit and related activities.
Description of Deliverables
  • Monthly email summarizing progress outputs, action points from each month to capture key information and outputs from project/calls - Last working day of the month
  • Market-shaping report draft, including a foundational model of entities analyzed for feedback from leadership - 31 January 2026
  • Assessment, recommendations, and plan for revision of the Climate Services Readiness Assessment Tool - 28 February 2026
  • Completed market-shaping report prepared for external dissemination, excluding communications layout - 31 March 2026
  • Presentation of proposed mock-ups for new digital health section of Clima-Health Portal and updated readiness assessment tool - 30 April 2026
  • Project plan for pilot opportunities to test the Digital Adaptation Kit in multiple locations - 31 May 2026
Qualifications Education
  • Master s degree or equivalent in environmental studies or a closely related field (Public Health, Medicine, Environmental Science, Meteorology, or applied sciences relevant to climate and health applications, such as data science, physics or engineering). A first level university degree with two (2) additional years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a master s degree.
Experience
  • Technical experience in the integration of climate information and digital health products and services.
  • Experience writing reports, documents and correspondence required.
  • Experience in a local or national government setting, such as the National Health System/Service, or National Meteorological Service would be an advantage.
  • Experience with United Nations projects or international cooperation would be an advantage.
Other requirements
  • Knowledge of multi-sectoral health and climate issues, and the production and application of climate and related weather, water and environmental information and services in the health sector.
  • Desirable skills include demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage the work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with strong ability to draft clear and succinct communication items, reports, documents and correspondence.
  • Maturity of judgement, initiative and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of diverse experts and partners.
Languages
  • Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written).
  • Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.
