Full-Stack Web Developer; SY-EPC-CCS--GRAE

Job Description

As a full-stack developer in the Tools Team at SY-EPC-CCS, you'll become the main responsible for a set of crucial web applications used by converter experts to ensure smooth operation of the power converters 'll be working closely with other team members, applying an agile work approach, and work on different products in sprints (Scrum).

Your responsibilities

• Working on front-ends in JavaScript (Vue
  3.js).
• Working on back-ends in Python (FastAPI).
• Working on databases in SQL (Postgre
  
  SQL / Oracle).
• Contributing to the team's containerization setup / workflow (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm).
• Gathering and iterating over requirements and features with our users and stakeholders (Power Converter Experts).
• Collaborating closely in a team of developers who are working on the full stack of the tools suite, using the Scrum framework.
• Providing application support to converter experts / users (debugging, fixing etc.).
• Participate in the internal support of power converter controls (treating data modification requests).
• Potentially supervise computer science students / interns.

Your profile

Experience:

• Experience with UI/UX design and web front-end development.
• Experience with web back-end (REST API) design and development.
• Experience with database design and development.
• Experience with gathering user requirements.
• Knowledge of or experience with Dev Ops (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes) would be an advantage.

Skills:

• JavaScript / Type Script (Vue
  3.js, Pinia, Vite);
• Python (FastAPI, SQL Alchemy, Pydantic, asyncio);
• SQL (Postgre
  
  SQL, Oracle);
• Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• By the Final date to receive applications, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computer Science (or a related field)
  and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree
  .
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
• Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours:

40 hours per week
