Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is a dynamic state agency responsible for delivering a wide range of services to Georgia's most vulnerable populations. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and assess the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved.
• Assure agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Build and encourage a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with other agencies and providers.
• Create and maintain a positive working relationships within the community and on the county DFCS Board.
• Develop and administer budgets.
• Facilitate communication within the unit(s)/agency on a specific case level as well as on a procedure/policy level.
• Interview, hire, direct, train, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges employees from social services.
• Lead and administer a comprehensive system of public assistance, employability, and social services.
• Manage human resources and directs administrative activities for groups of social services employees.
• Plan, administer, and maintain the operation of social services programs.
• Review new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.

Note:

Related area for Bachelor's degree include Social Work or Behavioral Science degrees include but are not limited to the following: social science, psychology, sociology, child development, family studies, criminal justice, education, public health, public administration, nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related supervisory experience in a human service delivery program; or Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Welfare Svc Case Mgr Spv (SSP
073) or position equivalent.
