ANAVIA specializes in the design, development & manufacturing of vertical take‑off & landing (VTOL) systems of up to 500 kilograms. The company offers industry leading unmanned helicopter systems for various mission profiles, such as Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection or Mapping & Cargo.

We’re growing our engineering team!

As a Flight Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and testing of unmanned helicopter systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure that our systems are reliable, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Tasks
  • Data Collection and Management: Oversee the collection, organization, and storage of data generated during UAV operations, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse flight data to assess UAV performance, identify trends, and uncover insights that inform design improvements and operational strategies.
  • Reporting: Develop and produce comprehensive reports and visualizations that effectively communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, including flight control, test bench, and design engineers, to provide data‑driven insights that guide product development and enhancements.
  • Tool Development: Create and maintain analytical tools and scripts to automate data processing and analysis tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Validation and Testing: Support flight testing by analysing data to validate performance metrics and identify potential issues or areas for optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in data analysis techniques, incorporating best practices into workflows.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Significant experience with analysis of large datasets, preferably in the aviation or space industry; familiarity with software tools for data processing and fundamentals of flight dynamics.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of data science tools (Python, Jupyter, etc.), experience with embedded systems and their communication (CAN, UART, etc.) and fundamental understanding of flight dynamics.
  • Communication: Very good technical communication skills.
  • Language: Excellent language skills in English (oral and written). German desirable.
