Quantity Surveyor

First Task Professional are currently working with regional fitout and refurbishment Contractor to source a quantity surveyor for their busy team in Glasgow. The business is involved with numerous framework agreements, as well as directly negotiated projects, giving them a strong order book for the coming year. Reporting to the companys Commercial Manager the ideal candidate will come from a fast paced framework environment, where project value can vary from £100-2.5m

Duties include:

Negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required. Manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures inclusive of obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, appointing subcontractors, issuing subcontract orders, valuing subcontract works and payment, issuing and responding to relevant notices and agreeing subcontract final accounts. Oversee the preparation and agreement of priced schedules of work utilising existing schedules of rates.

Support the commercial team to maintain project expenditure within budget and in compliance with administrative procedures To prepare a budget cost plan for each project and ensure schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
