As an apprentice, you’ll support production teams behind the scenes, helping to bring these stories to life through planning, logistics and coordination.

This is our entry level position into production management; you will work as a Production Management Assistant, supporting our Production Managers and Production Coordinators in creating quality content for all of our output, which may include TV, audio, online, events and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities And Impact
  • Assist the production team with setting up shoots, crew bookings, travel logistics and call sheets
  • Support budget management, accurately tracking expenditure
  • Collate accurate information to help complete the delivery of post‑production documentation
  • Work on location, in studios, and across our BBC Offices
  • Learn best practices in production management, Health & Safety, compliance and sustainability

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for job roles such as a Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, depending on experience both inside and outside of the BBC.

You’ll study for your industry‑recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor‑led workshops; tutorial sessions; presentations and group work. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be asked to gather a portfolio of work while working towards a SCQF 7 apprenticeship qualification.
