The BBC Scotland Brand team encompasses Marketing, Media, Creative, Digital, and Social. Our team in Scotland is part of the Marketing department and produces video and audio content to promote our brands, programmes and services. You’ll get to work across a wide variety of content, and learn about broadcast media, digital and social creative production. You’ll be part of the social team but will work flexibly across marketing, media & creative teams getting a broad understanding of the whole team.
YOURKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
As a Production apprentice, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute – you could be:
- Creating short‑form content for social and digital platforms using BBC content (e.g. drama, docs, entertainment)
- Researching audience trends and working on marketing briefs to shape our campaigns
- Working with media planning to get a broader understanding of that area
- Collaborating with producers, marketers and commissioners across the BBC
- Attending team meetings and creative briefings to pitch and work on ideas
- Learning new skills or extending existing skills in applications such as the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop) and internal BBC systems
You’ll be learning both on and off the job. This means that as well as learning on your placement at the BBC, you’ll also attend regular meetings (either in‑person or virtual) with our learning provider, working towards an industry‑recognised, SCQF 7 in Creative Media.

We’re not focused on your qualifications; instead, we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.
If you can bring some of these skills and experiences, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply if you have:
- A love of social media (and awareness of new trends) and box set binges
- An interest in design, filming, editing, photography or animation
- A desire to learn more about marketing content in a broadcast environment
