An opportunity exists for an Engineering Officer who will manage and develop a team of two technicians and two inspectors, liaising with the Roads Maintenance Client teams.

• Statutory road works noticing;
• Management of the annual roads and footway resurfacing and patching programmes;
• Programming of the cyclic gully programme;
• Financial management;
• Absence management and disciplinary procedures.

Other duties include ensuring compliance with the following:

• Health & Safety legislation;
• The risk‑based approach of the Code of Practice "Well‑Managed Highway Infrastructure/Roads Safety Inspection and Repair Policy";
• The Winter Maintenance Plan;
• SRWR noticing and the technical requirements of the Transport Bill.

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related subject;
• Managerial and technical experience in roads and traffic front‑line service delivery;
• Experience managing technical staff;
• Working knowledge of CDM regulations;
• Current driving licence.
