We are looking for a commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and enjoys inspiring teams to deliver results. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Commercial Director in driving cost control, income maximisation, and contractual compliance across multiple projects while building and guiding the QS team and delivering accurate, timely commercial reporting.
What we expect of you- Spearhead and manage the Quantity Surveying team, providing day‑to‑day guidance and ensuring commercial objectives are met.
- Prepare key commercial reports, including plant utilisation, traffic management, and defect costs, and support the Commercial Director on claims and contractual matters.
- Chair weekly commercial meetings, promote accountability, and ensure the effective use of systems such as COINS.
- Champion safe working procedures, ensuring all procedures follow company and contractual requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Minimum of an HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior QS position, ideally within utilities or civil engineering.
- Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC3, and high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the MS Office suite.
- Experience using commercial systems such as COINS, CEMAR, or Depot Net is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work without supervision, and experience managing a team.
- A full UK driving licence.
