About Us

We are a Scotland‑based groundwork and civil engineering specialist contractor. We work primarily throughout Scotland; however, owing to our connection to the RSK group and its extensive UK‑wide capabilities, we can undertake projects throughout the country. Tarpave, a subsidiary of Deans Civil Engineering, specialises in road surfacing work and operates across housing sites, major industrial and commercial projects and the UK‑roads network.

Our project work involves earth and groundworks, with 3D modelling technology capability, pre‑ and post‑construction analysis and remediation strategies and earthworks management to optimise construction activities. We streamline materials disposal via our off‑site disposal facility, which caters to wide‑ranging materials and screens imported materials to create recycled secondary aggregates for use on internal construction projects and external sales. We have worked with some of the biggest names in the construction industry, such as Morgan Sindall, Kier, McLaughlin & Harvey, Bowmer + Kirkland, Key Property Solutions and Cruden and Morrison.

The company’s scope of work ranges from pre‑contract support with value engineering, ground modelling and cost planning through to delivery of a full civils offering for the construction phase, inclusive of remediation, bulk earthworks, construction of roads and sewer systems, attenuation systems, public realm work, substructures and complex basement, retaining wall and concrete superstructure works, providing concept to completion solutions. We also offer hard and soft landscaping services and have delivered high‑quality hard‑landscaping and public‑realm contracts.

Dean Civil Engineering is part of the RSK Group, a leading integrated environmental, engineering, and technical services business. RSK was founded in 1989 and has grown considerably since then.

At RSK we operate as a group of businesses that work together seamlessly, aiming for growth through diversification. Our strategy helps us build a strong and resilient business, capable of weathering external challenges, while also providing greater value to our clients and more opportunities for our employees.

We remain committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We actively encourage applications from candidates of all genders, races, ethnicities, ages, neurotypes, religions or beliefs, sexual orientations, and those with disabilities.
