What you'll be doing

As an Outage Planning Assistant you'll play a vital role in supporting planned outages across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a customer notification service for planned shutdowns ensuring customers and utilities are informed promptly and accurately.
  • Raising jobs in corporate systems and preparing lists of affected customers.
  • Managing changes to planned outages and liaising with customers to resolve complaints.
  • Assessing outage requests by interpreting 11kV and LV network diagrams and authorising or referring requests for engineering assessment.
  • Contributing to minimizing GS4 failures and improving customer service by detecting and correcting inaccuracies in customer records.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by monitoring processes, capturing feedback and addressing non-conformances quickly.

You'll also work closely with other SP Energy Networks business units to maintain strong relationships and ensure compliance with OFGEM and internal service standards.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in administrative roles with strong organisational skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and confident learning bespoke systems.
  • Able to interpret technical diagrams and assess conflicting data to make accurate decisions.
  • A strong communicator who can build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Methodical, well organised and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of Power On DOP (District Outage Planner) and Energy Networks corporate IT systems is desirable as is awareness of health safety and environmental legislation.
