Who Will You Work WithOur client is a key player in the UK's energy sector, committed to delivering high-performing grid and control room technologies. You'll be working closely with teams in engineering, operations, and IT to support the development and integration of real-time systems essential for electric distribution.
About the RoleWe are looking for a Power On Specialist with at least years of hands-on experience working with Power On Control and/or Power On Advantage platforms. In this role, you will support the configuration, integration, and data extraction processes within Power On systems and contribute to real-time operational performance for control rooms. You will also play a key part in integrating Power On with cloud databases and other IT/OT systems.
This role is based in Glasgow with days/week onsite and is offered on a
-month BB contract with a strong chance of extension.
- Configure and maintain connectivity with Power On Advantage systems to extract digital, analog, and event data for cloud storage (Timescale
DB). - Support real-time operations in the control room through troubleshooting and system optimization.
- Integrate Power On platforms with IT and OT systems, including Historian Systems.
- Work with SQL and/or Python for data manipulation and platform customization.
- Understand and navigate telecontrol communication protocols (IEC, DNP, Modbus, ICCP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system operations and integration.
- Minimum years of experience with Power On Control or Power On Advantage.
- Strong understanding of database integration and data structuring.
- Familiarity with MV/LV electric distribution systems is a plus.
- Experience with Historian and other control/monitoring systems.
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to respond to real-time operational issues.
- Effective communicator with experience collaborating across technical teams.
