Client Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design team at their Glasgow office. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience designing electrical building services systems.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to refine their engineering skills working on bespoke, technically challenging, design and construct projects in specialist and regulated markets, working directly with world leading clients.

As an electrical design engineer your responsibilities will include :

• Design electrical systems including HV and LV Distribution, Lighting, Fire, Structed Cabling and Security systems with support from senior engineers as required
• Develop detailed plans and specifications with input from senior engineers as required
• Perform system calculations and select equipment based on project requirements
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure design conformance with industry standards and regulations
• Prepare construction documents, including equipment schedules, layout drawings and single-line diagrams
• Manage the electrical aspect of projects from design through construction and commissioning

• Degree in Building Services Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in building services design
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and industry standards
• Ability to think from first principles to develop elegant, efficient and economical design solutions
• Basic commercial awareness
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Proficiency with electrical design software and associated tools, such as Trimble / Amtech, Dialux or Relux, and Excel
• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D drawing platforms including AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
• Full UK driving license

• Salary up to £48,000 per annum (DoE)
