Glasgow - Hybrid - PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £90,000 to £100,000 p.a. depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. As Commissioning Editor for Entertainment, Factual Entertainment and Events, you’ll lead the development of standout series and live moments across TV, iPlayer and digital platforms, bringing bold formats, fresh talent and unforgettable experiences to audiences across the UK and beyond.

YourKey Responsibilities And Impact
- Develop and deliver entertainment, factual entertainment and cultural event programming across platforms.
- Lead co‑commissioning efforts with BBC Network teams to maximise reach and impact including attendance at Network genre slate and development meetings.
- Nurture on‑screen talent and champion new voices, especially in comedy entertainment.
- Commission digital‑first content for platforms including You Tube and Tik Tok.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure editorial excellence and promotional success.
- Strong track record in content creation or development in entertainment, factual entertainment or events.
- Strong understanding of current broadcasting trends and audience needs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Impeccable editorial judgement and creative flair with a track record of developing new ideas.
- Clear understanding of digital content strategies for You Tube, Tik Tok and emerging platforms.
- Experience in talent development and knowledge of Scottish on‑screen talent.
- Ability to manage budgets and deliver complex projects to deadline.
