Finance Director

We are recruiting for a Finance Director to step into a Board level role after the retirement of a colleague. The ideal candidate is a commercially driven individual who has performed the role of a Senior Financial Controller (or equivalent) within a technology‑led SME and is looking to take the next step in their career.

BiP Solutions is a SME technology and data business that develops innovative SaaS products supporting supply‑chain excellence across the private and public sectors. We combine entrepreneurial spirit with strong technical expertise to deliver measurable business outcomes.

You will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for all financial aspects of the business and for providing commercial insight that supports strategic decision‑making. The role goes beyond stewardship – it will shape the financial strategy, operational performance, and growth strategy of the company and ensure sustainable growth through sound financial management, data‑driven decision‑making, and operational excellence.

• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute the company’s growth strategy.
• Provide financial modelling and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives.
• Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Ensure robust cash‑flow management, including SaaS recurring revenue recognition and subscription metrics.
• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate management accounts, board packs, and statutory reporting.
• Drive pricing strategies, margin analysis, and profitability improvement across the SaaS product portfolio.
• Provide insights into product performance, customer acquisition costs, and ROI on growth initiatives.
• Support sales and customer success teams with financial data to optimise revenue retention and growth.
• Drive fundamental change initiatives and lead on associated transformation projects.
• Embed modern ways of including AI, automation, and data‑led process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax obligations, and statutory requirements.
• Implement strong internal controls, risk management frameworks, and scalable financial processes.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small but high‑performing Finance and Business Services function.
• Instil a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial focus.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a finance leadership role, ideally within an SME or high‑growth technology/SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, subscription business models, and revenue recognition principles.
• Commercially astute with the ability to link financial insight to business strategy.
• Hands‑on, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial SME setting.
• Tech‑savvy – embraces automation, AI, and data‑led decision‑making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at board level.
