Principal Clinical Scientist – Clinical Biochemistry
Location:
Glasgow Royal Infirmary, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
We are hiring a full‑time Principal Clinical Scientist. The role sits in the Clinical Biochemistry Department, which serves acute, community and mental health services for a population of over 1.15 million.
The shift pattern is 08:45 – 17:00.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in all aspects of the department: reporting, clinical liaison, research, innovation, teaching and audit.
- Conduct specialist endocrine, vitamin and trace element analyses.
- Maintain high quality laboratory standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide clinical advice and support to healthcare professionals.
- HCPC registered Clinical Scientist.
- MSc or equivalent, Part 1 FRCPath or a minimum of 4 years’ clinical biochemistry experience (3 years’ experience for appointment under AfC Annex 21).
- Desire to achieve full FRCPath qualification.
