Senior Site Reliability Engineer

As a senior SRE you would be joining our growing Hashi Vault squad as part of the strategy to offer more services and a better user experience to our clients. The current squad has been running for 4 years and includes people from several locations, including New York, Montreal and Glasgow. We are adding more engineers in EMEA and require an SRE to help us create the same culture of ownership and independence that exists in our current squad.

You will be working to implement new features, deal with user requests and reduce repeatable tasks, allowing us more time for strategic initiatives. In particular, you will be a major driver of our push to Google Cloud, which is due to go live in 2026.

• Delivering Vault services to customers running in Google Cloud.
• Supporting the Vault squad with Engineering & Operational tasks, ranging from service delivery, automation, Dev Ops tasks and supporting an on‑call rota.
• Working with the Vault squad & wider Technology stakeholders to support the continuous improvement of our services through the development of automation scripting and effective observability solutions.
• Enforcing adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product‑specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
• Onboarding new tools to support business needs and integrating them with the Morgan Stanley ecosystem.
• Participating in design discussions, code reviews and the various Agile ceremonies to help us produce the best product possible.
• Delivering knowledge sharing across our Vault squad & Data Protection chapter, providing documentation, presentations and internal postings.

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Kubernetes.
• 7+ years of experience implementing technological solutions, managing applications and services in an enterprise environment.
• Solid knowledge and hands‑on experience of IaC with Terraform.
• Solid knowledge and hands‑on experience of Helm.
• Solid knowledge and hands‑on experience of automation scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with Hashi Corp Vault.
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD.
• GCP certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Dev Ops Engineer, Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• Hashicorp certifications such as Terraform Associate, Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional, Vault Associate, or Vault Operations Professional.
• Experience migrating application workloads into GCP and/or GKE.
