Red Hat OpenShift Security Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced to support the design, implementation, and enhancement of security controls within an enterprise Open Shift environment. The ideal contractor will have hands‑on experience securing Open Shift clusters and implementing platform‑native security features in line with best practice and organisational security standards. Given the nature of the work we are Ideally looking for someone who already holds a SC clearance.

• Design, implement, and manage security controls within Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform (OCP).
• Configure and enforce Open Shift security features, including :
• Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Security Context Constraints (SCCs)
• Network Policies
• Pod and container security configurations
• Integrate Open Shift with enterprise identity and access management (IAM) solutions (eg LDAP, Active Directory, SSO).
• Implement and support container image security, including image scanning, registries, and trusted pipelines.
• Work closely with platform, Dev Ops, and security teams to ensure secure‑by‑design container platforms.
• Support compliance, hardening, and audit requirements across Open Shift environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve security‑related issues across clusters and workloads.

• Strong hands‑on experience with Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform (OCP).
• Proven experience implementing Open Shift security features at platform level.
• Solid understanding of container and Kubernetes security concepts.
• Experience with RBAC, SCCs, Network Policies, and secure workload configuration.
• Familiarity with container registries, image scanning, and vulnerability management.
• Strong Linux background (Red Hat / RHEL preferred).

• Experience with Open Shift Service Mesh, Operators, or Git Ops tooling.
• Knowledge of enterprise security standards and compliance frameworks.
• Red Hat certifications (eg RHCSA, RHCE, or Open Shift certifications).
• Experience working in large‑scale or regulated enterprise environments.
