Position: Commercial Underwriter (Permanent)
COMMERCIAL INSURANCE UNDERWRITER
GLASGOW

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Get Recruited are working with an established insurance brokerage who are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join their team.

This role offers the opportunity to underwrite a varied portfolio of risks while developing strong broker relationships and supporting the profitable growth of the business.

THE ROLE:

Underwriting renewals, and mid-term adjustments across insurance lines
Assessing risk information and making underwriting decisions within delegated authority
Pricing risks accurately to achieve profitability and growth targets
Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders
Negotiating terms, conditions, and premiums
Ensuring underwriting decisions comply with internal policies and FCA regulations
Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying trends and opportunities
Working collaboratively with colleagues across underwriting, operations, and claims

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have experience as an underwriter within commercial insurance
The ability to make sound underwriting decisions and justify them clearly
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
