General SummaryThe CNC Machinist will operate and program CNC machinery, primarily a DMG 180 5‑axis machine with a Siemens Shop Mill control. The position also includes self‑inspection of finished goods, maintaining process control, and following all health‑safety guidelines within the shopfloor environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Operate and program CNC machinery, including the 5‑axis DMG 180 Siemens Shop Mill control.
- Set and machine components using own initiative.
- Perform quality‑assurance inspection of parts according to drawings.
- Maintain efficiency records of equipment.
- Perform safety and housekeeping tasks.
- Perform all machine‑safety start‑up duties.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks.
- Strong numeracy and mathematical skills.
- Mechanical skills.
- Ability to operate CNC milling machines and manual machinery, including jib cranes.
Machinist apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Machining experience in a manufacturing setting.
Programming Experience RequiredExperience operating CNC milling machines is essential.
