OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated Ward Sister to manage a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in the In‑Patient Unit, working alongside band 6 charge nurses to support the IPU ward at our Glasgow Hospice. You will deliver and coordinate high‑quality, person‑centred palliative care and support the Nurse Manager to foster a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and supervision
- Support the development of junior staff
- Contribute to local and national quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain a significant clinical caseload
- Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
- Proven experience at Band 5 level in caring for patients with specialist palliative care needs (hospice, hospital, or community settings)
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of current palliative care practices
- Compassionate, person‑centred approach to care
Relevant nursing degree. Post‑registration training in palliative / end‑of‑life care.
Additional InformationSalary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £41,608 – £50,702
Contract: Permanent – 37.5 hours per week
Location: Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice, 133 Balornock Road, Glasgow, G21 3US
