Staff Nurse – Plastic Surgery

Position based in Ward 49, Plastic Surgery Admission and Day Surgery Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The unit covers the West of Scotland, providing elective and emergency admissions for reconstructive surgery for skin cancer, breast cancer and traumatic injuries.

Attributes and responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care to patients in the Plastic Surgery unit, working alongside a multi‑disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, healthcare support workers, physiotherapists and specialist nurses.
• Work shifts Monday to Friday (3 × 12‑hour shifts), cover core shifts and night shifts as required by service demands.
• Provide high‑standard care in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment; demonstrate flexibility, forward‑thinking and effective teamwork.
• Assist in day unit management where experience is beneficial.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Valid UK NMC Pin number.
• UK NHS experience preferable; experience in a day unit advantageous but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work to high standards in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility, pro‑active mindset and ability to work within a changing environment.
