Job Description Summary
A tier one contractor specialising in building the sustainable lifelines for the transport, infrastructure and energy markets and an industry-leading and award-winning UK&I provider in rail electrification is looking to hire a Quality Manager to join their Glasgow office.
The Quality Manager will lead and manage the implementation of quality assurance systems and continuous improvement initiatives across our engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company objectives to deliver safe, reliable, and high‑quality outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Head of Engineering for Scotland your duties will include;
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality assurance systems for project operations.
- Ensuring alignment with UK rail safety regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies to maintain certifications
- Identifying and implementing process enhancements to improve efficiency and quality outcomes
- Conducting regular internal and supplier audits, inspections, and reviews.
- Preparing reports and corrective action plans
- Assisting in the management of external audits (RISQS / PCL / ISO).
- Oversight of the production of Non‑Conformance Reports
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure quality of materials, components, and services used in projects
- Maintaining accurate records of quality activities and report findings to senior leadership and external auditors
- Being the focal point of contact for all quality documentation required for project hand back and entry into service. This includes milestone events, overall completion and health & safety file compilation.
- Regular attendance at client meetings, managing client requirements for all quality matters.
- Liaising with Quality team throughout the UK and company to demonstrate collaborative working and strategic developments and opportunities.
- Working within company safety guidelines, adhering to the requirements of The Health & Safety at work Act 1974 and Network rail guidelines.
- Carrying out any other reasonable related duties.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role at managerial level as well as a strong background in advising and actioning.
- Experience of working in an engineering, construction or rail industry.
- Official Quality Qualification (CQI or similar)
- Internal Auditor (ISO
9001 : 2015 or similar) - Strong IT skills and use of a variety of software and programs
- Lead Auditor (ISO
9001 : 2015 or similar) desirable - Excellent organisational skills
- Valid UK driving licence
- Willing to Travel
Salary:
In the region of £50,000 - £60,000 negotiable dependant on experience plus car / car allowance & package.
