Job Purpose

To make a leading contribution to the project “Defining interplay between TREM2pos tissue-resident macrophages and GAS6pos interstitial fibroblasts in restoring tissue homeostasis”, funded by UKRI-BBSRC UK. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Mariola Kurowska‑Stolarska (Principal Investigator) at the University of Glasgow, in collaboration with postdoctoral fellows and their supervisors:
Professor Stefano Alivernini (collaborator) at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, and Professor Christopher Buckley (Co‑investigator) at the University of Oxford.

The candidate will lead a specific research stream within this project, which aims to deepen our understanding of the tissue mechanisms responsible for re‑establishing self‑maintained homeostasis after inflammation. The project follows a bedside‑to‑bench‑and‑back approach, utilizing human tissue single‑cell and spatial multi‑omics at disease remission (inflammation resolution), human tissue organoids, and the use and generation of unique transgenic mouse models. The candidate will also contribute to the preparation and submission of research publications and grant proposals and will take responsibility for managing the human tissue biobank and/or mouse strains that support the project.
